It is a new day in a very young year.  I sit here in my warm, secure den surrounded by familiar things.  The sounds I hear outside are familiar, reassuring in their own way.  How different it must be for Christians in so many other places in this world.  Being dragged from their homes and beaten, under no real protection by their government.  The sounds and voices outside their homes frightening.  I am thankful for my own peacefulness.  But I have no influence to put an end to their suffering except to pray to our Lord for his strength to be with them.

Today, I pray specifically for Indian Christians who are dragged from their homes and beaten by Hindu extremists.  May they have a peace that is beyond our comprehension.  May their persecutors be drawn to Jesus by what they see in these Christians.
